About the Role The Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, cultivating, and maintaining local and regional business relationships that lead to corporate, group and other non-leisure rooms sales at The Francis Hotel and Longfellow Hotel. The Sales Manager shall see to the implementation of all pre-agreed sales plans through direct sales solicitations, telephone inquiries, written communications, and involvement in the community. Additionally, this position will foster the culture of Uncommon Hospitality through the administration of hospitality practices. Qualifications
  • Experience in the hospitality industry specifically in a sales position
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of how to do the right things always- using sound judgment- even when no one is looking
  • Seeing opportunities where others have not- and creating opportunities others wish they’d thought of first
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant software systems and processes
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience with a CRM or similar email platform
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Marketing knowledge a huge plus

This is a great opportunity to join a small and growing company. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This is a full-time position located in Portland, Maine. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work-from-home candidates who are comfortable traveling to our Portland office location and properties at least 3 days a week. While this job is based in Portland Maine, from time to time, you will be expected to travel to venues and events outside of the Portland area, as the business demands.
