About the Employer The Hart-Ransom Union School District is located in an agricultural community just west of Highway 99 in Modesto, CA. The district is made up of a TK-8 elementary school that serves 750 students and a TK-12 charter school that serves 430 students. The Hart-Ransom District has 100 employees, and is one of the highest-paying school districts in Stanislaus County. Job Summary Provides direct reading intervention to students and adapts instructional routines and strategies to provide direct specialized reading instruction to students with severe reading difficulties, including monitoring and adjusting intervention instruction.
Coordinates adoption and facilitates implementation of adopted literacy curricula, including providing training to classroom teachers.
Selects and administers reading and literacy assessments, interprets results to determine student growth and identification of struggling students, selects interventions, communicates results, and provides guidance and coaching to teachers.
Designs, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive literacy plan.
Supports students' literacy development and informs and trains teachers in literacy skills using information and communication technologies.
Evaluates literacy practices and reports findings, guides teachers and administrators in collaborative efforts to design, implement, and evaluate local, state and/or federal programs, and plans and conducts staff development.
Requirements / Qualifications BA/BS Degree
Valid California Teaching Credential: Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist (RLLS)
Valid CLAD/EL Authorization

Comments and Other Information Minimum of five years of highly successful teaching experience in grades 1-3 required.
Successful experience as a Reading Specialist preferred.
Beginning salary range: $63,815 - $112,792 based on units and experience.
